There are many different types of saddles, all designed for specific purposes. Within the two large families of English saddles and Western, chairs you can find everything from riding police work, and other types of saddles that do not belong to these families. It is important to select the right chair for a task, and ensure that they are also suitable for horse and rider, the wrong seat can be uncomfortable or even dangerous.
